Plum Dumplings

(Serving Size- 8 People)

Ingredients:

Quark- 1 Pound (Cheese)             Flour- 3 Cups                      Eggs- 2                  Salt- Pinch

Plums- 8 (preferably Damson variety)    Sugar Cubes- 8                  Brown Sugar- ½ Cup

Cinnamon- 1 Teaspoon                 Unsalted Butter-1 Stick Melted

 

Directions:

Mix quark, flour, salt and eggs in a mixing bowl, divide the batter into parts of 8.  Cut plums halfway and remove core, place a sugar cube in each plum.  Pat one dough flat and wrap around the plum make sure there are no holes.  Place plum with dough in boiling water let simmer for a half an hour.  Remove dumplings with a slotted spoon and cut dumpling in half, arrange on a platter.  Sprinkle dumpling with brown sugar and cinnamon and then drizzle melted butter.

Pear Cranberry Chutney

 

4 each pears, seeds removed and diced

1 cup dried cranberries

2 cups apple cider vinegar

2 cups brown sugar

¼ teaspoon cinnamon

¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes

3 oz. candied ginger

Pinch of cloves

Pinch of nutmeg

Pinch of salt

 

Combine all ingredients in sauce pan and simmer until consistency of syrup, about 30 minutes.
